In 1924, Jaime Egaña commissioned the construction of this residence, known in the town as the ‘Etxe Haundi’ or ‘Casa Grande’ (Big House) due to its exceptional height. The building has served as accommodation since its inception, and—as an interesting detail—its elevator was the first to be installed in Zarautz.
