Zarautz

Zarautz is a tourist town on the Basque Coast, known especially for its beach, surfing, seafront promenade and gastronomy.

Zarautz beach is approximately 2,500 metres long and is a place to enjoy the sea, take a walk and practise water sports, especially surfing.

The seafront promenade has restaurants and cafés and offers a pleasant setting to enjoy the town and its views.

The beach and its surroundings offer a variety of settings, with areas frequented by families and swimmers, areas used by surfers and a dune area at the eastern end.

Golf

The Real Club de Golf de Zarautz, founded in 1916, lies at the foot of Mount Talaimendi, in a natural setting between the sea and the marshland.

Gastronomy

Gastronomy is one of the attractions of Zarautz. The town has a wide range of restaurants and establishments where you can enjoy Basque cuisine and traditional local products and dishes.

Typical dishes of Zarautz and its surroundings include baby squid in their ink, fish in green sauce, sardines, grilled sea bream and txangurro (spider crab).
