Zarautz beach is the largest in Gipuzkoa and its length of 2,500 metres makes it a multidisciplinary space, with a wide variety of activities and people.

Families, surfers and nature lovers come together on this stretch of sand that is divided into three different areas: the western end, used by families and swimmers; a middle area reserved for surfers and in the eastern end are the dunes, which create a habitat for many species of flora and fauna.

The Real Club de Golf de Zarautz, founded in 1916, is found at the feet of the Talaimendi, in a natural setting of great beauty between the sea and the marshland.

Gastronomy

The gastronomy of Zarautz is is one of the main things attracting tourists to the town. Acclaimed chefs such as Karlos Arguiñano have contributed to this reputation, along with many restaurants which masterfully produce all the traditional Zarautzan dishes: baby squid in their ink and Pelayo style (cooked in Txakoli wine with caramelised onions), hake with green sauce, grilled sardines and bream, txangurro (spider crab), and much more.
