Hotel Zarauz Escrito:
In 1924, Jaime Egaña ordered the construction of this residence known in the town as the ‘Etxe haundi’ or ‘Big House’, due to its exceptional height. The hotel opened its doors in the 40s and, as a curiosity, its elevator was the first to be installed in Zarautz’.
The Zarauz hotel has always been a landmark in the town. For many years, many tourists from different areas (business, couples, families, senior citizens, sports groups) have spent the night here to enjoy our surroundings, they have come to our bars and restaurants to taste our cuisine, they have booked guided tours and they have entered in our stores...
Unfortunately, this pandemic has greatly impacted the tourism sector, with hotels being one of the most affected sectors. It has been a time of uncertainty and difficult with the continuous restrictions, but we learn from great crises and great opportunities arise. We are already used to successfully dealing with other crisis situations and we have a great capacity for resilience.
We want to thank our suppliers who have been adapting to the circumstances and decisions we have been making and all the clients who have received with understanding all the changes and cancellations of their reservations. Thank you very much to all of you. We still have a long way to go but we will continue as always with our eyes set forward.
We hope to soon be able to offer our services to our clients and the people. We are working hard to open our doors with many new things with great enthusiasm and above all, despite the mask, we will continue to welcome our customers with a big smile.
